Students in Quetta, Arrested for demanding internet facilities and protesting against online classes.


Students not only in Quetta but across Pakistan are raising their voices against online classes. Students don't have access to internet facilities in backward areas. 

Educational institutions were closed soon after the first coronavirus case. Having no other solutions institutions started online classes to keep teaching in this situation. 

Soon after starting the online classes, Institutions started being criticised on social media Link , they have got many issues regarding online classes but most of them are struggling with internet issues.

We are living in the 21st century where we have access to almost everything still there are places where people don't have access to a proper internet connection. Some areas have internet facilities but internet quality is what bothers them.

Our telecom sector has also been under criticism for not providing better and cheap internet facilities Link, Let us not forget every other country with poor internet services is also struggling in these times.

Students in Quetta were protesting against online classes and asking for internet services in front of Quetta press club they were heading towards provincial assembly when police attacked them and arrested most of them.





They were not asking anything illegal, they were asking for their proper rights. This was not the first time they have raised this issue they have been raising this issue from the start under the banner of Baloch Students Alliance.


According to police, students were trying to organize a rally when there is a complete ban on every kind of gathering as section 144 is imposed.
